Our Mountain Lion Encounter....
Dan had been bugging me for WEEKS to go rock climbing with some friends of ours. I wasn't too keen on the idea... I was still working full time and when I would get home, all I wanted to do was play with Jayden and rest. One rainy day, Dan asked if we could go rock climbing when I got home. The weather forcast told me that it was expected to rain until about midnight that night, so I said, "Ok," so that I would not sound like a bad guy. I hate Idaho weather. It stopped raining ten minutes after I got to work at 8:00 that morning. So, when I got home from a horrible day at work Dan was gung-ho about rock climbing, and anticipating that I would be less than pleased about going, he had already rented our equipment so I couldn't back out. He also had Jay all packed and ready to go in the carseat, with his diaper bag ready, too. I was home all of two seconds before we left for Kelly Canyon. We met up with Bryce, Rachael, Sam, and his date. We hiked halfway up the mountain (it was a small one) and got to the rock climbing part. Bryce climbed up and secured the rope, and while he was getting things ready, the temperature started to drop. I looked at Dan, excited about this change, and said, "It's going to be too cold up here for Jayden. We need to bundle him up, or leave." Dan smiled at me and said, proudly,"No worries, I brought his snowsuit." I paused..."Honey, he doesn't have a snowsuit...." Dan had been pulling something out of the diaper bag and he stopped and asked, "Then what is this?" "Hon, that is his halloween costume..." Dan had brought Jay's lion halloween costume! So, we bundled him up in his costume, and he totally played the part!. It ended up being exactly what I needed to cheer up.

Feeding Myself!!!

Jayden had tons of fun up at Bear Lake for Conference weekend. So did Mommy and Daddy! First, Jay got accidentally woken up Friday night and decided that he wanted to play until about 5 or 6 in the morning. Mommy was so lucky! Then, he decided that naps were uneccessary for this weekend because there were way too many people to meet. Jayden did decide that sleep was needed Saturday night, but once the sun came up at 5:30 Sunday morning, he was rearing to go. I guess that the thought of hearing Gordon B. Hinkley speak excited him.... He did not take a nap, hooray!!! It was a good weekend, though. Jay got to spend lots of time with Great Grandma and Grandpa Samuelson, and Grandma and Grandpa Richardson. The little boys were so good with him! And, as you can see, Jay learned how to feed himself!! Fun times!!
Cleaning Day!!!

Dan and I decided that out house had gotten out of hand...it didn't help that we had just finished a food fight... So, our Saturday consisted of returning to "adulthood" and cleaning. Jayden helped tremendously. He is such a little worker!! He loved "wiping up the floor". I now know how to keep him occupied while doing chores: give him a job, too.

Mini-Dad
It amazes me how much these two look alike!! We were getting ready for church this morning when I found this outfit for Jay, and couldn't resist taking pictures. Once we got to church, Jayden was a HUGE hit. (Well, who could resist that cute face?) Dan and I are in trouble...Jayden already knows he's good-looking, and uses it to his advantage. Any time he does something he knows he's not supposed to (i.e.-bite Mommy while eating) he smiles his big, dimpley smile to try to get away with it...he's learning that Mommy is no ordinary woman...:)

Angel Baby
Trying this thing out....
I've received a few requests to make a blog about the Richardsons...aka Jayden. I know that Megan and Rylee both have theirs, and so it only seems natural that Jayden get one, too. I have no clue what I'm doing, but apparently they make these things idiot-proof. Let's see how this goes...
