Brushing the Tooth!!

Since Jay has a tooth, now, I went out and bought him a toothbrush and toothpaste. He wasn't too wild about the idea at first, but he warmed up to it...I had to chase him down to get the toothbrush back.

Cheerio Fun

Jayden discovered a new and exciting game today...Dump the Cheerios. The rules are: Jayden dumps the Cheerios, and Mommy picks them up. If Jayden can keep dumping the Cheerios before Mommy puts the last one in, he is winning. He is a funny kid. When Daddy first gave Jayden the cup of Cheerios, Jay was holding his balloon with both hands. He looked at each hand, determined that both we occupied, and bent over to eat his Cheerios like a puppy. He stopped before we got the camera out. Oh, can you see his tooth??

Sleepy Lion

I was going to wait and post Halloween pictures when of I got the pics from Lecia of Benji and Jay together, but I decided that the world needed to see Jay's full costume before it gets too late. He made it to two houses before he passed out. I mean it. Passed out. Normally he is a light sleeper, but no matter how much we talked to him or stirred him, he did not wake up. Until we got home, that is... As you can see, he LOVED to play with his candy. Also, his friend, Ethan, from upstairs, gave him a few Trick or Treat toys. So, Mommy and Daddy got candy to eat, and Jayden got candy to play with and some toys!! We loved Halloween!!

It's Art!

Cutting cookies is a LOT more fun that cutting teeth!! Jayden and Daddy mastered the art of cookie cutting during FHE tonight. Jayden picked out several cookie shapes that reminded him of his families in Texas and Utah. For Grandma and Grandpa Reinbold, he chose the cowboy boot and hat. For Uncle Pookie-George, the fire truck. For Megan, a flag! Rylee has a butterfly, and in honor of Thanksgiving, a football for Uncle Matt. The doggie bone is for Grandpa Richardson, because we all know how much he loves dogs!! :) Jayden helped cut out Grandma Richardson's teddy bear. Isn't it beautiful?

Poor Baby Boy

Jayden has cought the "Teething Bug". We woke up this morning to find out that he had a horrible upset tummy last night, and it continued today. He had a slight fever, too, and he didn't want to get down and play. We sat and snuggled on the couch while he nibbled on a piece of toast and watched a movie. He sat still the ENTIRE time. My Jayden! I was going to hold off going to the doctor as long as I could, but we went this afternoon because he wasn't keeping anything down. Dr. Cottrell suggested Pedialyte juice and pops, and to just love him. So, off to the store we went. We were able to get some of the juice down him before nap time, and he ate half a pop after he woke up. He's not too sure about those pop things...They taste SOOO good, but they give you a sharp headache if you take a big bite out of them!! After recovering from the brain freeze, he was a much happier baby. He was not in the mood for real food, or even a bottle. He would not take anything but Mommy. (Which is great, seeing as how I'm trying to wean...his neediness is not helping, but that is okay. I wasn't sure if I was ready yet, anyway.) He was playing and giggling, and rearing to go for FHE.

Family Home Evening

We had a FUN Family Home Evening tonight!! We decided that we wanted to make sugar cookies, so Jayden helped. He loved watching the eggs crack, and was amazed by the feel of flour in his fingers. (Don't worry, his hands were cleaned before and after cooking.) We had a blast with the cookie cutters on the floor! Jayden even picked out a few. (I cleaned the cutters before we used them) We had a much better end of the day than the beginning.

My Little Longhorn

Tonight, Jay and I were watching the Texas vs. Kansas State game together. He was sitting quietly on my lap, being the sweetheart he is. Then, Texas made a not so lovely play that upset me. I let my team know how much they had disappointed me, and Jayden just watched me with wide eyes. The Longhorns played a little better for a few minutes, then messed up again. I started getting on to them, when I was joined by a much younger voice. I looked down at my 9 1/2 month old son to see him yelling at the t.v. and the look on his face was not pleasant. He looked up at me and started talking, still upset, as if to say, "I cannot BELIEVE they let him get all the way to the 5 yard line!! What is going on with our defense???" I was proud, yet scared at the same time. Proud, because I have a little Texas Longhorn fan that will sit and watch the games with me, and scared because I realized just how much these little ones absorb from us. It is amazing!!

Fun with Mommy

Jayden has found the joy of knitting and crotcheting. He had a blast with Mommy while she made a hat and he made....something.
